Thread: Advantages/disadvantages of jail breaking ipod touch?

What are the consequences? Will it cancel the warranty? Reduce performance? My friends tell me that I should jail break my Ipod touch 3rd gen 32gb and I want to know whether or not it's worth it. I mean what more I could do with my ipod after it is jail broken?

For me it is worth it because I can do lot more on my i Phone than when it is not yet jail broken.

First understand this Jailbreaking is not illegal. An advantage is playing fun applications that were created independently of Apple instead of the same usual boring ones provided. You do have more freedom. Most people that have done it have wondered why they waited so long. Really if something happens to your iPod( if it bricks) you can restore it and bring it back to Apple if it is a hardware problem and Apple will not know you were jailbreaking it. You can try it for awhile and if you don't like it just do a new reflash of the firmware and it will be back up to snuff.
