To put photos onto the iPod Touch, you plug in your iPod and click on it in the list on the left side of iTunes. There will be tabs at the top of the screen that say things such as: Summary, Music, Movies, TV Shows, Podcasts, Photos, and Info. Click on Photos. Make sure the box is checked that says Sync photos from. Click on the drop-down menu beside the Sync Photos From text and click choose folder. Choose a folder such as My Pictures that you would like the pictures to come from. When you are finished hit apply at the bottom right corner of iTunes and then sync!

P.S. If you have Windows Vista, there is a problem syncing photos to the iPod Touch. Only some of the pictures will appear on your iPod and some will look distorted and not clear. To fix this problem, get a jump drive or an external hard drive. Put your photos on the jump drive in a folder and tell iTunes to sync from that folder on the jump drive. This will fix the problem and all photos will look great on your iPod Touch!

    Hope this helps!

Adrenaline, you did an excellent job of explaining this process. I especially found the last part of your post helpful, to me at least. I have vista and have noticed some of my pics looking grainy and blurry. I will do what you suggest with the jump drive and hopefully that fixes the problem. Thanks for that piece of advice.

Plug your iPod in then go on iTunes then on the left click on your Ipod icon then near the top going across you will see tabs saying summary , applications , music bla bla .. click photos then make sure the box is ticked for syncing photos then choose where u want it to sync photos from and then just sync your ipod and they will be on

    hope this helps xx

So far so good, and thanks for the clarity. Still two questions from me.

    1. My downloading of photos, PC to iPod, is creeping much more slowly than all my audio syncing, because it keeps pausing to OPTIMIZE a photo.
After an hour or more I am still only on photo 487 out of 3000+
Is this just something I will have to put up with?
Or is it just when any particular photo is being synced for the very first time?

    2. When I download, the iPod seems to need to DELETE EXISTING FILES
and sync my whole collection again from scratch.
So is there some of adding just one more set of photos, another 50 images,
instead of syncing the whole 3000 again?

Yes, make special folders on your PC for the photos You want on your iPod.
Like 'iPodTouchPhotos' and in that folder You can make folders with a specific item like 'Holiday2009' and so on.
Then in iTunes mark manually and at the photo section ad the map like 'iPodTouchPhotos' And then mark the folders You want on your iPod. So You can do it folder by folder.
So You get the same folders on Your iPod.

Sorry; this is how it is supposed to happen. When I hit Sync, it says things like
" The iPod (name) cannot be synced; timed out." or "The required disk cannot be found"
I have just had theiPod reset at Genius Bar, so it can't be the machine.
