Unhappy Making phone calls using iPod touch

How can I make my iPod touch make phone calls using the Fring application? I can make calls from the iPod touch but it doesn't go through on the other end. I see it dailing and everything and ringing but the number I am calling never rings on the other end.

Because the iTouch is not a phone - you can't use it as a phone!

I have heard of folks using the touch to make calls using wifi and a Skype app. But I think you need a headphone set that has a mic included...

Yes You can make phone calls with the iPod touch.
I use Skype and that is working great!
You can find Skype at the AppStore for free.

Skype is here working fine with my iPod touch 3G 64GB and iOS 4.
So try to delete the program and shut down your iPod, after restarting install Skype again.
Only the headset from the 3G 32GB and 64GB are working with Skype, but You can also use this microphone; iPodMicrophone.eu - Buy your own iPod microphone!
And You can't reverse to 3 if You have 4.

I've used the Apple "headset" that is made for the I-phone. I also purchased other band headsets (cheaper) that worked. But you do need Skype and an active WiFi connection.
