Thread: adding albums to itunes

when i add an album to itunes it adds the songs as individual songs!

how do you add them as a complete album?

You must get the 'tags' of the songs the same. You can do that to select all the songs click right and choose Get info (For Apple Shift-Click on the first and last song you want to select.
Select Files > Get Info or press ⌘I). iTunes will ask if you want to get info for multiple items - click Yes.
There get the same name for Album and Grouping. Click OK and the song appear in one album.

If not do the same again and change one of the fields.
