Is there a way to disable note deletion (for the notebook app) on the ipod touch?

believe it or not i was sitting down talking to my friend and i did both swiping and pressing delete unintentionally while my finger/s were on the screen while the screen was on and i was in the app. can you tell me if there is a way to lock the actual ipod screen?

and i knw i can just turn it off but im saying lets assume i forgot to turn off the screen and the screen is on and im talking to a friend...

Go on your iPod touch to Settings > General > Automatic lock > here You can set it to one minut.
