Default Determining song volume?

every time i go to sync a song onto my touch, its says that "determining Song Volume".
so then after it does that all my song get quieter. and i can tell by plugging in my friends touch into my alpine Cd deck. i can only turn his up to 23 volume level. but mine i can some times get it to 31.
Any body can help me out.

I think in iTunes you must have the option selected where it automatically adjusts the volumes of all your songs to match each other. I would check around the different iTunes option menus and look for an option like this. Check the advanced menu first....
BTW, welcome to the forum!!
