Default Starting over with my laptop - what about iTunes and my itouch?

I use my touch with iTunes on my laptop. My laptop is on it's last leg so I'm going to have to re-install OS, iTunes....etc.

I synced my touch with iTunes a couple of days ago when I could connect to iTunes.

I'm also syncing my Outlook stuff on my iTouch which is more important than my "tunes".

Is there anything special I need to do the first time I try to sync my iTouch with iTunes on my new install?

from what I have read you should back-up to cd/dvd your tunes music, so you'll always have that somewhere, unless of course it is too big a music folder...and the contacts you can backup w/ another free app for windows -if you're using WIN? by now you may have already done it all - cheers.
