Default can't select certain photo folders in itunes

I'm trying to add a photo to my ipod by following this procedure:
    connect ipod to computer
    click on summary
    select photos tab

that is where I have the problem. 'All folders' is selected as is 'Include videos'. I've tried to click the 'selected folders' but it won't let me.

I would like to establish a folder on my desktop into which I can put photos since I have so much stuff in the 'My Documents" folder.

Any help resolving this would be greatly appreciated. this is very frustrating. I've tried adding the additional photo to the folder I've been using, but it won't sync. It shows up in that folder, but when I sync it - it won't transfer over.

    help?

oops. seems I have 2 photo folders with the same name. that corrected the latter problem, but I still can't select "SELECTED FOLDERS" option. I've tried every combo - de-select sync photos - de-select include videos etc. the selected folders option just won't work.

    thanks,
    -susie

Do you have installed the latest version of Apple - iTunes - Download iTunes Now?

You can only use one level of subfolders. So you can’t sync a subfolder of a subfolder. To use those photos, you’ll have to reorganize them in a single level of subfolders.

Make sure the “Sync photos from” box is checked, then click on the drop-down menu:

Select the source of your photos, such as the folder in which they are located:

Once you select a folder, you can sync all the photographs in that folder to your iPhone or iPod. You can also use subfolders to help organize and sync only certain photos you want on the iPhone/iPod. These subfolders will show up as an album in iTunes, which you can then check or uncheck, depending on whether you want them to sync or not.

For example, create a subfolder called “Family” within your main pictures folder. Drag (or copy and paste) only the pictures of your family into the folder that you want on the iPhone/iPod. Click on the Photo tab in iTunes, and the Family subfolder will show up as an album in iTunes with a checkbox next to it. Note that this works for only one level of subfolders. If you created a sub-subfolder, it would not show up in Tunes.
