How will my iTunes and iPod work with my two computers?

Can it work? Can I put my songs from my laptop to my desktop? If I buy a song from the desktop, can i transfer it to my lappy? BTW, my laptop is an Apple. My desktop is a PC....PC's suck.
What exactly will happen?
