Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum and thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Dennis and I'm a happy Apple iTouch user (32GB 3rd gen, iOS4). I've been a PDA user since the late '90s, switching back and forth between PalmOS and Windows Mobile (& earlier iterations) hoping improvements on the other side of the fence would improve efficiency/productivity (palm was always the better of the two but lacking in many areas just the same). A brief sidetrack two years ago had me trying to utilize a Nokia N800 Internet Tablet as a PDA - not a good solution. I'm not a smart phone fan. Everyone I've used to date has turned out to be both a poor phone and a poor PDA.

A day spent with a friends iPhone changed that perspective for me. I found it to be the best PDA interface I'd used to date by far and a pretty good phone to boot! I'm not a big fan of the AT&T network (or rather the company behind it) and AT&T reception at my home is lousy if it works at all so the iPhone wasn't an option for the time being. Not a problem as I was really only interested in finding a useful PDA - no Windows Mobile and no PalmOS.

The iTouch has turned out to be just that and a whole lot more! It's also a pocket entertainment system (music player, video player, gaming device, etc.).

I can see myself eventually moving to an iPhone but for now I couldn't be more pleased with the iTouch. Being a consumate tinkerer I must admit I often wish the device was not so locked down but this isn't a bad thing for a device I rely upon so heavily both personally and professionally. It has yet to fail me when needed.

I'm not a big Apple fan to be honest but I have to say that I am a big fan of the iTouch and iPhone product lines! These things cause one to reconsider what the words 'personal computer' mean. I'm of the opinion that the user interface and form factor of these devices combined makes them possibly the most ideal 'personal' computers yet devised.
