Apple released the Touch 32GB model for $499

This is great news! Now I can see many more people purchasing a Touch if they though that 16gb was too small. 32 gb should be sufficient for most users.

This is silly. Every couple of months there will be a bigger iPod Touch and iPhone. Do any of you follow Engadget? Every other week theres a story about how Samsung is releasing new SSD or Flash Memory capacities. I saw that they have 64GB fash memory small enough so that they can fit 4 (64GB) hard drives inside the old iPod hard drive.
Its crazy what they can do with technology but on the other hand it stinks. Every time you go out an buy an iPod now with in the next 6 months they will have doubled the memory capacity. I just bought the 16GB iPod Touch, two days later they come out with 32GB.

Unfortunately, that is how technology works. Prices drastically drop when new things are produced. I am guessing that the Touch will not get any bigger than 32Gb. However, I predict that a new 2nd gen Touch will come out by May. At this point however, the prices for the current Touches will drop as the months go by. BTW, welcome to the forum! I'm about to buy an 32GB iPod Touch, but want to know if there's a new generation coming soon? should I wait? any news about that?

I would think around November an new Touch might be out, but apple is really good at keeping secrets. When the supply of i pod touches suddenly runs out that is a tell tale sign.

Any reliable word yet on a 64 gb ipod touch? I have been holding out for this for more than a year. I really don't want to spend $500 and then see what I really want come out the following week.

awesome news that 32GB i touch is going to come !!

but it is a sad news for me as i bought the 16 Gb version recently , i once again have to loosen my pockets and upgrade.

rather than feeling sad , i am quite excited that the 32 GB version is going to come.
