Default Skype on iPod Touch Mic problem

Have installed Skype on my iPod Touch 2g using Apple Earphones with remote Mic MB770.Can make a connection to any Phone and can hear speaking but they do not hear me. A small picture appears showing a microphone with a line through it and the word Mute underneath. Can anyone help me make the Mic active. Regards Ron

When you installed skype on ipod successfully there should be no problem while speaking . If mute symbol visible on screen it means in audio setting you had selected mute by mistake if you select mute in audio setting the person who speaks to you cant listen your voice. you should go to settings and change the setting. If you do so you can speak to others with out any problem.

I had the same problem with my 3rd gen. touch but it works fine with the supplied headphones with the inline speaker, however if I received a call when not using the headphones,by the time I had found them the call was gone.
I bought one of those small speakers that plug into the headphone socket,so when I get a call I just plug it in and it works like a phone. £4-99 on ebay.
Maybe the MB770 IS is similarto the one I bought.

Make sure your volume is up & you are not cover the mic when you are talking. Try testing out your microphone, either through skype or try looking for an App, but Skype usually has a mic tester. Go into the settings of skype and your phone and just mess around with the settings near volume control. You are bound to figure something out.

Try to reinstall Skype again. And test the mic.
