I have just acquired a new (out of the box) iTouch. The instructions say the first thing to do is to sync it with iTunes.

I have the latest iTunes (Version 9.02) installed on my G5 Mac running OS X 10.4.11

iTunes refuses to recognize the iTouch when I plug it into any USB port. (It will recognise my wife's iPod, however, when that is plugged in)

I have followed all the recommendations in Apple's trouble shooting site, INCLUDING RE-INSTALLING ITUNES, and nothing seems to work.

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG??
