Default Is there a chat/messenger app that actually works on an iPod touch?

Is there ANY messenger/chat app that works? Has ANYONE had success with one of these on an iPod touch? I can download Apollo and MobileChat but neither of them work. I think they're meant for the iPhone. Ive been using beejive.com and its okay, but I want a messenger app instead of a web-based chat client.

So, does anyone have success with any chat apps?

    Thanks!
    -Brad

When my touch was jailbroken, I used Apollo without any problems. Now I just used Meebo.com and it works great, but it is web based, so no luck there. However for me, it is VERY close to being a normal app because I bookmarked it to my springboard, so all I have to do is click it, and I'm good to go.

Okay, I have installed Apollo. BUT!!!! I can't get MSN to "connect".... i have AIM, but only one friend on the other side of the country. AIM will connect, but I get a blank screen. I don't know what its supposed to look like because its never worked for me.

MSN won't even connect. It does things like "handshaking" "authenticating" etc... but a little window always says "cannot connect"

    This is really FRUSTRATING

    Help please!

I FOUND OUT HOW TO FIX IT!!!!

I searched google "apollo + ipod touch + msn + cannot connect" and I clicked the link to macrumors.com..... hope im not considered a traitor..lol..

and I scrolled down until I saw this link and the guy said "DL this and replace the 'host' file with this"

and people were like, "WOW THIS WORKS!!!" so I tried it... and IT WORKS!!!

    the file is here http://code.google.com/p/apolloim/is...462&name=hosts

And you have to know how to use SSH, which Im going to explain in a post that will be up shortly...

But, Yeah. I just deleted the original "host" file, and uploaded this one ^^^ an IT WORKS NOW!!! IM so happy

Anyways, I think Im going to make a post with this link so if ppl search, they'll find it easier....

I'm glad you found a way to fix the problem! I have AIM and all of the chat apps I have used have worked.

Haha very true point. BTW, has anyone used the AIM from the appstore? Is it any good? How does it compare to the apps from Installer?
