Default iPod Touch video playlist & launching icons questions

    Hi,

I'm trying to make an icon that launches a homemade video playlist (and then automatically starts to play them) on the iPod touch interface and wondering if the only way to currently do that is to jailbreak an iPod Touch??

I'm also wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to make your own icons to act like "shortcuts" so that when you touch the icon it launches the video in the iPod Touch video player??

Another question I have is; is it possible to make an icon that will launch an Adobe reader PDF file whenever it is selected??

I was also wondering if anyone knew of a way to make a video that you could touch different parts of the screen to see different movement (like you would be able to do in Flash) but using an application that would work on the iPod touch?

Lastly, if I do have to jailbreak the iPod, if the iPod were updated whenever a new version was released would that update wipe the jailbreak from the iPod rendering my homemade icons useless?

Any help is very much appreciated.

First off, welcome to the forum! I am not sure of the answers to ALL of your questions, but I will tell you what I do know. For the icons, I know that you can add icons to access different web sites. I don't think it is possible to add icons that access other parts of the Touch's media. The only way to do this would be to jailbreak it, I believe. And yes, if you update to a newer firmware on a Jailbroken Touch, then you will lose the Jailbreak.
