My iPod touch second generation was purchased in July, and has been working great. Yesterday, January 18th, i payed $4.95 (with .80 coming from a gift card) to get the newest software update, the iPhone 3.1 Software Update for iPod touch. The download went through all 256 MB (or somewhere around that amount) and then an "unknown error occurred (1603 or something around that, i apologize for my lack of exact numbers i've had multiple other things going on). So i restarted my computer and then unplugged my ipod. Then, a screen on my ipod appeared with the cable and an arrow pointing upward to the itunes logo. so i opened itunes and plugged it into the computer, and it said that my computer detected a new hardware (usb device). Then, a window pops up saying i don't have enough access privileges to install the hardware on the computer and to contact my administrator. What should i do? i've tried using separate USB ports. and the device manager doesn't read it as an ipod. please
help me out here
