    Unhappy Problem with yahoo Contacts

I am very new to iTouch--1 week. I use Yahoo and have a large address book using different catagories of contacts. Somehow, (don't know what I did), but the whole contact book transferred to the iTouch. I didn't really want it to transfer at all, or at least only certain catagories. The Contact area of the Info tab in itunes does not give me an option to enter different contact catagories when the Yahoo Address Book is checked, so it downloaded and did a sync on the whole book. Now how do I change the settings so that it does not sync at all. I don't want to lose all my addresses on my computer, so I am afraid if I delete them off the device, it will also delete them from the computer. I'm confused!!!! But I don't want all of those contacts on my iTouch. Some I use only once a year.

Sure hope someone out there can help me. I'm getting frustrated to the point of deleting everything and starting from a clean slate again, but I would rather not have to do do that. But then, what should the settings be? I need specific help. Not too good at this new device yet.

    Thanks!
