Exclamation Please help im having problems w/ ipod touch 2g it's shutting off for no reason

I have had my iPod touch 2g since November 15,2008. I recently updated it with the newest software out, the day after it randomly shut off. When i plugged it into itunes a message popped up said that it detected my ipod was in recovery mode and needed restored, so i restored it. It worked for half a day then did the same thing. I restored it again and it keeps doing this and i have restored it over 20 times and don't know if this is a fixable problem. Please help. (I have also tried holding the home and sleep button & my ipod is fully charged because i leave it plugged into the computer for the whole night) DFU restore doesn't work and its NOT jailbroken.

Hey man I feel your pain, I have a 1g iPod Touch and mine is doing the same thing as well. Mine isn't jailbroken, i know it isn't the battery for mine. I may end up going through apple and pay the fee and see if they can fix it with out having to get another one. This one has been boggling my mind
