    Well, I went there yesterday and the Guy from the Apple store had no idea what I was on About. I think That i have however found a solution: i'm installing xp on my Spare harddisk and i'll try and run iTunes from there and see what that gives as a result

    Yes You can try that. I use Vista and have no problems with it.

    Well, I'm not out of the woods yet, my windows 7 PC does not allow me to install XP (normal install is blocked and install using BIOS gives an error just before setup starts). On my mother's XP computer, the installer works (using the BIOS), but it says the HDD I want to install to is damaged. So I'm quite desperate now.

    Yes, that's bad, I think Windows 7 blocked to install other OS.
    Maybe You can try to format the disk first.
