    Default Touch Screen Issues

    Hello all.

I recently bought a broken iPod Touch 2G with the hope of fixing it (and thus getting it on the cheap). The LCD and everything work great, but when I went to replace the touch screen, I can't get a single response out of it.

I have not completely reassembled the iPod, since I want to make sure all of the parts work first. I have not put the touch screen in the bezel either (for the same reason). Could the fact that the touch screen is not in the bezel be part of the problem? Could there be any other causes?

Thanks in advance for the help.

    Unhappy

I am having the exact same issue. I got one used with a cracked digitizer screen (the previous owner sat on it) and ordered a new screen and bezel and could not get any touch response from it. I then proceeded to rip the ribbon cable on the digitizer in my attemps to get it to work. Did you find an answer for this yet?

I wonder if the replacement digitizer was just defective or if the iTouch is toast? Anyone can help us out???
