    Lightbulb

Reset your iPod Touch, press and hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button simultaneously at the same time for at least ten seconds, then the LCD display will clear and the Apple logo appears on the black background. When Apple logo appears, reset is done.
    Then synchronise with iTunes.

I have a same touch and the extended service plan. I also had a problem with the O4 download. The second level tech told me that there was a "issue" which some of the first downloaders of O4 found. He said it was quickly fixed. We did a new/second download and reset and all is fine again.

The 2nd level tech walked me through by deleting all apple programs on my PC - Note there is a specific order that must be followed per him - and rebooted. Then we did a complete new download of ios 4. Sorry but as I was busy following his instructions, I do not recall the order - I was too busy clicking and reporting what came up on the screen.

At 68 years and without other training I focus on following instuctions but I don't multi-task too well.
